Alice Spencer is a painter and print maker living in Portland. A founder of Peregrine Press, she chaired the city's Public Art Program and founded TEMPOart, a non-profit for temporary public art. Spencer has served on the boards of Waynflete School, Greater Portland Landmarks and the Maine College of Art where she received an Honorary Doctorate in 2018. She serves on the Advisory Boards of SPACE Gallery and Safe Space Radio. She has taught art in public schools and printmaking at the Haystack Mountain School of Crafts, MECA's Continuing Studies Program and in Mongolia and Tanzania.
